Trade Scanners

Quickly Find Trading Opportunities

Delphian’s Trade Scanners are designed as a one-stop shop for finding and then backtesting trade ideas all on the same page.  The 7 different scanner themes currently available are explained in detail on the corresponding tabs: Seasonality, Earnings, Candlesticks, State Transitions, State Targets, Proprietary Trades and Unusual Option Activity.  Each page has customizable search parameters, symbol search lists and trading strategies to execute backtests with.

After screening for qualifying candidates (each scanner provides unique search parameters), each symbol or groups of symbols can be quickly backtested using 1 of 20 different stock or option strategies. The process involves 5 quick steps for each trade scanner:

  1. Select the symbol search list, it can either be a pre-defined list or a custom created list of symbols.
  2. Select the specific criteria you want to find in the trade scanner.
  3. Review candidates in the search results to see which ones you want to backtest.
  4. Backtest the individual symbol or group of symbols using one of the 20 different strategies. For each strategy you must select the option strike and expiration parameters in addition to profit target and stop loss percentages.
  5. Results of the backtest are displayed immediately with summary results of profit, win percentage, and profit factor. Individual trade dates and results are also displayed. Any backtesting parameter can be quickly altered and re-run to find optimal trade parameters for each trade within minutes.
